Code of conduct

  1. The overarching goal of the consultancy office is to promote the integration of photovoltaics into the building envelopes of future (new construction) and existing (renovation) buildings by means of knowledge transfer.
  2. The consultancy office provides knowledge and information on the technical and design integration of photovoltaics into the building envelope and related topics.
  3. The consultancy office is financed by public funding from the Helmholtz Association and operates on a non-profit basis.
  4. The consultations are primarily aimed at those responsible for construction, architects, investors and planners. Competitions will not be consulted.
  5. Priority is given to projects in the early service phases and with direct building integration of photovoltaics.
  6. The consultation is initial. It does not replace planning services for specific construction projects.
  7. The advice is always product-neutral and independent (i.e. the advice center receives no funding from industry and does not favor individual manufacturers or products).
  8. Consultations for individuals from the named target groups are free of charge. For events organized by external partners and for consulting requests from commercial companies, as well as for services that go beyond an initial consultation, fees may be charged to reimburse expenses.
  9. In order to guarantee high-quality advice, it is necessary to obtain information, information material and samples from manufacturers or providers of technical solutions for BIPV. Acceptance is only possible with explicit information about the neutrality of passing on the resulting information. Furthermore, the acceptance of gifts is prohibited.
  10. The anti-corruption rules of the HZB apply at all times.
