Samira Aden at the first Pan-African Biennale
Special news: our colleague Samira Aden becomes curatorial lead at the first Pan-African Biennale in Nairobi, Kenya.
Her topic “Energy and Materials Futures” examines how future energy and material systems are repositioning architecture as a tool for social transformation. The focus lies on a change of perspective: away from externalized dependencies and towards African architectural sovereignty. This is supported by Afrocentric narratives, local resources, circular renewable materials and resilient energy systems. All of this takes place against the backdrop of rapid urban growth on the continent.
We are delighted that Samira Aden is contributing her expertise and vision to this pioneering pan-African format. Keep up the great work!
