For the "energy transition" to succeed and the ambitious climate goals to be achieved, the building stock must be climate-neutral by 2050. The surfaces of buildings offer large and unused potential that can be activated and used for decentralized power generation by installing photovoltaics. This applies to both new buildings and existing buildings.

In order to build a bridge between the world of construction and photovoltaics, our consultancy office provides extensive knowledge (e.g. about available technologies, design options, products, technical feasibility, legal framework conditions, ...) for architects, planners, construction managers, investors and urban developers.

With our experienced team, we offer product-neutral, targeted and personal advice on the use of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) and the activation of building surfaces.

At the same time, we are developing further education formats that are offered as part of the annual advanced training for architects.

With our initial free advisory service, we want to lower the barriers to the building-integrated use of photovoltaics and thus contribute to the widespread use of this technology.

Our short video trailer gives you a first impression of the BAIP's mission and services.

The BAIP is embedded in the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie GmbH  and thus close to research and development on photovoltaics. Its unique Living Lab  for BIPV in Berlin-Adlershof with its solar facade serves as both a research and demonstration object.
The scientists study the interaction between the solar facade and the actual building over a long period of time. At the same time, it provides experience from planning, construction and operation from the perspective of architecture and facility management. The consultancy office regularly offers guided tours for pupils, students, companies or simply anyone interested in BIPV. If you are interested, please contact us!
